Twitter No Longer Syncing with LinkedIn

Twitter has ended its two and a half year partnership with LinkedIn to share conversations on both platforms. For users, this means tweets will no longer be displayed on LinkedIn. LinkedIn users will still be able to post updates and press a button to share on Twitter, but the reverse is no longer an option.

In an official Twitter blog post by Michael Sippey, the consumer product chief emphasizes “providing the core Twitter consumption experience through a consistent set of products and tools…developers should not ‘build client apps that mimic or reproduce the mainstream Twitter consumer client experience.’ That guidance continues to apply as much as ever today. Related to that, we’ve already begun to more thoroughly enforce our Developer Rules of the Road with partners, for example with branding, and in the coming weeks, we will be introducing stricter guidelines around how the Twitter API is used.” Continue reading “Twitter No Longer Syncing with LinkedIn” »

#1 Most Important on Your LinkedIn Profile? Your Picture

Ever wonder what people look at the most on your LinkedIn profile? Many people must have the same question, which prompted TheLadders to conduct a study using an eye tacking technique. In the study, technology was used to examine the eye movements of 30 professional recruiters over a ten week period to record how long each person spent looking at portions of LinkedIn profiles. The findings?

The number one most-looked at item on your LinkedIn profile is your picture, with recruiters spending 19% of their total time on it. Next in line is current job position, followed by education. Much less time is spent on looking at skills, specialties or older work experiences. The interesting findings from this study prove that looks are important when it comes to making a first impression. This goes for businesses owners and company employees as well. Why Law Websites Should Feature a Blog

The constant updating of websites is a key strategy for improved search engine rankings, and blogs are an effective way to provide that fresh content. And when it comes to online marketing for lawyers, law websites have a lot to gain by featuring a blog.

Blogs are a great outlet for law industry professionals to share information and position themselves as experts in a specific niche. By commenting on and linking to useful resources, lawyers can be branded as subject matter experts. This is a good place to share videos or presentations on various topics to market your law practice.

If your content is relevant and informative, it will attract other bloggers to comment on and link to your blog posts, as well as share it across social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to further increase your online visibility.

While websites wait for a search engine to find it, blogs have a built-in syndication feed. This means each time a new blog is posted, a news feed is sent out that alerts search engines, other bloggers and industry professionals. When you constantly supply new and fresh content in the form of blogs, the collection of relevant information and keywords becomes indexed to rank higher in search engine results.

The nature of blogs is interactive, so don’t forget to share your blogs on social media networks. An active blog community is highly ranked by search engines. There are many widgets, plugins and social bookmarking sites such as Digg and Reddit that make it easy to share blog content and create more links.

Google’s One-Stop Shop for Nonprofits: What is Google Analytics?

In this blog series, we’ve gone over the Google for Nonprofits suite of free or discounted apps and websites available. Now we’ll discuss what Google Analytics can do to help your nonprofit organization reach its goals.

Google Analytics is a free service that offers measurements tools for your website. It presents a dashboard of tools that allow for creation of real time, customizable and sharable reports. Content analytics will tell you how often people visit each page of your website, how long they stay, and how often they convert. The Google Analytics conversion suite goes beyond page views and visitor counts to track sales, downloads and video plays to help you truly understand visitor behavior. Learn which social media sources refer visitors and whether you gain the most traffic from Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or Google +.  If your nonprofit organization has a mobile-friendly website, mobile analytics is available to monitor the performance of apps and tell you where mobile traffic comes from.

Understanding this valuable data will help you to improve your website and increase marketing ROI. You’ll be better able to manage your online advertising dollars as you make smarter bidding and keyword choices on Google Adwords. Google Analytics has proven to be a powerful tool for many companies, such as PBS, which unlocked data and insights to see a 30% increase in visitor traffic. Switching to Google Analytics helped the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art gain new efficiency in performance measurement and realize a 15% gain in traffic accuracy. Using Google Analytics, nonprofits can learn which online marketing initiatives are cost effective and see how visitors actually interact with their sites.

If you have any questions about setting up Google Analytics, Blue Interactive Agency can help. New LinkedIn Updates Help You Make Connections

Last week LinkedIn officially announced the new Group Search feature to help professionals find opportunities, share knowledge, and learn from each other. Since its inception, members have created over 1.2 million groups on LinkedIn on a wide variety of topics ranging from retail estate to fashion. The new feature helps members search across the many groups to find the ones that really matter to them. Search results have become smarter and more relevant because LinkedIn now gives results based on conversations taking place instead of just titles and descriptions. LinkedIn offers a handy tool by showing you which of your connections are in that group, and filtering your results by network, categories, and language is now made easier.

Another feature the social media platform is debuting is the new “People You May Know” tool. Since its original launch, the powerful feature has helped millions of professionals grow their network with personalized suggestions. Located at the top right corner of the page when you log in, “People You May Know” displays three potential contacts at a time. The new and improved tool, which is currently in beta, streamlines the user experience with improved accuracy and relevance of recommendations. LinkedIn uses an algorithm based on your existing network, past work places, and places you’ve gone to school to give more relevant results. According to the official LinkedIn blog, the company will roll out the updated version to users in the next few weeks.

With these new features, LinkedIn is making it easier for professionals to expand their existing networks. LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional network on the internet, and continues to be a powerful tool for social media marketing. There are several ways you can use LinkedIn to increase the visibility of your business. Blue Interactive Agency can offer the strategies you need to create an effective LinkedIn profile and business page. With our LinkedIn marketing strategies, you can increase your brand’s visibility, generate sales leads, and support search engine optimization.
