Search Engine Marketing (SEM)is a form of Internet marketing that seeks to promote websites by increasing their visibility in search engine result pages. According to the Search Engine Marketing Professionals Organization, SEM methods include: Search Engine Optimization – See above for details. Paid placement – Paid placement can include pay per click ads, website banner ads, and Press Release Placements .Paid inclusion – Paid inclusion includes website directory submissions which give you inbound links. So,as you can see, the most obvious, difference between SEO and SEM is that SEM includes SEO. It is important to note that SEO is not an internet marketing tactic that can stand alone.
